Carmalita’s Cuisine is a unique wonderful restaurant that serves flavorful organic gluten-free dishes that cannot be found anywhere else in Houston or Texas for that matter. I call clients Carmalita and John Batiste my “power” ‘preneurs because they have a style that just doesn’t quit. She has been a client of mine for many years, and it was such a pleasure to welcome her husband, John, in 2018 upon meeting him for the first time. I helped them prepare their first business plan and was involved in some of the work with Carmalita’s first cookbook. It was such a pleasure working with them during their opening of their new restaurant, formerly Dacapo’s in the heart of the Houston Heights historic district.
