The life and story of Nehemiah has sharpened my sense of awareness of the need to steal away more for some me time; some me and God time to silence the noise and distractions around me. To settle myself and spirit so I can hear more clearly the voice and direction the Lord & the Holy Spirit is leading me.
Since I was young I have always had a heart for the elderly and for kids. In my older days, my heart is turned towards at risk/troubled teens, boys in particular being raised by single mothers. This has been my story, thus the burden follows.
As an elder, my enlightenment is that through this vision of elders praying together on a regular basis for each other, the Holy Spirit would remind us of: a) walking worthy of the calling (Ephesians 4:1); b) having a heart after God’s heart (1 Samuel 13:14b); and having the same spirit as our leader(s) (Numbers 11:16-17).
The first thing I would do is seek God, and then fast and pray for the leading and guidance of what God would have me do with this burden first and foremost Making sure that once the vision of the burden is revealed then by the word of God I will make sure that I will feed it through the word of God so that it will be able to come to pass full term and not premature.
I am going to have to learn to get on my face and weep when there is a burden placed me for what it is that needs breakthrough. I have been trying to handling the issues that I know of or am faced with with mere prayers; and not fervent. I will all what I am learning of Nehemiah to increase the level of my prayer life and prayers.
When I think of the life and story of Nehemiah to sharpen my burden in prayer, I think of restoring a building but that word applies to restoring worship is how to sharpen my burdens in prayer is to put God first. In Nehemiah’s situation, he was engaging the presence of God through prayer and worship before taking action.
To sharpen my prayer and worship, acknowledging God for who He is; His power and character and to ask for forgiveness for the sin in our lives. In asking for forgiveness and repent, we are living our lives in alignment with God’s purpose for our lives, asking God for restoration in our lives, marriage, finances, health with crying out to God, praying and fasting.
How Nehemiah handled his burden alone was of great inspiration and motivation. He was well aware that the burden he had for Jerusalem was a job he could not repair himself. He didn’t run to people he ran to God and sought God for a remedy. He also knew he had to take the necessary steps with the King in order to be able to go back to Jerusalem to rebuild. Nehemiah remembered God’s promise from Moses. I asked God to give him success when he approached the king and that the king might be kind to him! There was so much in the text I learned. Nehemiah’s ability to have tunnel vision, avoid distractions and pursue the things God gave him to do was truly hopeful. We can be focused like that as well. He had a clear understanding of Jerusalem’s condition, he knew to go directly to God and he executed his God-given plan until the end. I will use Nehemiah’s story as a guide of how to seek God first, ask what I need, Follow the strategic plan, avoid deterrence, and do not stop until the job is done
God has giving me a burden for all people with addictions especially drugs, men, women and children that are been abused by another’s hands or even verbal abuse.
I’m learning how to take it on and release it back to God. As I heard this morning non (negotiable) my life is to be an ambassador for the kingdom of God to remain faithful and dedicated where he has called me to trust him fully, for it is non negotiable for me to be selfish for my will, for its his greatest desire in me to be what he predestined me to be, I was created to produce, I was created to birth my Brilliance, because someone awaits for me to be in alignment with the King that I can help them come to their turn point.
So I send a message out to all and I DENOUNCE all access, I close all doors of distractions to bring me down from the work of the Lord, I must work the work of him that sent me while it’s day, When night come no man can work John 9:4
As Nehemah said in Nehemiah 6:3 Iam doing a great work, so I can not come down , why should the work cease, whilst I leave it and come down to you.
Send you letter, send your false report, send your accusers. I shall remain on the wall to rebuild until God has completed his work in me for his glory.
