I learned how to wait well even when circumstances were dismal. Also, I trusted God and did not lean on my own understanding. As a result, I developed a peace that surpassed all understanding.

3) What lessons did you learn from reading their stories in the bible?
• Gideon – Always love and honor God; be honest about fears and doubts; preserve, face my fears/doubts with God’s help
• Jabez – God uses obscure people (I grow up in an area that wasn’t even on any map)
• Timothy – I need to stir up the gifts God gave me; always remember that fear is not from God

That no matter how badly we desire a thing, that God has a plan and a purpose for our lives and that they will be carried out in His timing. We just have to trust Him and have faith.

I learned that Joseph’s brothers didn’t believe him when was telling them that their cattle were going to obey him and bow down to him and his. Moses was that because of his speech that he needed help to go unto Pharaoh and tell him to let my people go. And finally, Ruth and Naomi Naomi told Ruth and Oprah to go home but Ruth knew there was something greater coming and she said to Naomi where ever you go I’m going.

I learned from each one of these characters that WE have NO control over anything and that GOD’s timing is NOT our timing, He is soverign and that he does what he wants to when he wants too. I also learned that prayer and faithfulness to GOD will give you th peace, guidance you need to endure the challenges that lie ahead of you on your life’s journey. These challenges stretch you to grow more in him and allowed us to birth.
